Harrisburg [Pennsylvania]
September 20, 1862

Dear wife,

I arrived in this place this morning at 2 o’clock and am well. There is a great crowd here supposed to be 75 thousand soldiers although I have not seen much of the city and have just had our breakfast and think of leaving here immediately for the Maryland line.

The mail is going out and I must close. I will write again when we stop.

Yours forever, — William Edy
