My Dear Mother,

I received yours of the 27th inst. this morning and got the money all right and was glad to get it too. Then you think I won’t be of any use anymore, do you? Well, I think you will be disappointed this time for I can use my arm almost as well as I ever could and is getting better everyday. It has got so I can comb my hair with is and that I couldn’t do when I was at home. In a year’s time, it won’t bother me at all. That I think is good news for you. It is for me.

Well, it is 12 o’clock at night so I can’t write much. You say you are going after Grandma. I am glad of that. She will be company for you. Well, I will close by wishing you good night.
